Parser code fixed in GPixPod 0.4.4!
iPod Nano and Video users who got problems, crashes, failure when trying to open the Photo Database: please upgrade to the new 0.4.4 version and report if now is finally working for you. This fix updates the parser code so that it now should handle properly Photo Database files generated on Macs, probably by iPhoto and containing some extra irregular fields.
This release includes also a new iPod info dialog, showing the detected model and storage statistics, from the help menu.

Latest updates create some dependency mess in debian sid… maybe changing the python-glade dependency scheme (depend on ‘python-glade2 >= something’ instead of depend on python2.4-glade2 — the same for python2.4-gtk2) should make it work.

OK xf your comment arrives in the right moment, because I am in the process of redesigning the debian package creation script, in the meanwhile trying to get GPixPod in Debian and in Ubuntu

xf, actually I can’t change the dependencies, because the default python in Debian sid seems to be still python 2.3, and GPixPod depends on python 2.4.
python-gtk2 and python-glade2 would refer to the python 2.3 modules.
I am using the package fine on Ubuntu Dapper. May you post the dpkg command line output?

Maybe this is caused by the new python versioning policy in debian sid… etch should be ok.
What happens is that upgrading any of the python-glade2, python-gtk2 and python-gnome2 packages, apt ‘wants’ to uninstall both the python2.3 and python2.4 packages leaving only the package wothout the version in the name, so (python-gnome2 + python2.3-gnome2 + python2.4-gnome2) —> (python-gnome2) and the python2.4-gnome2 dependency fails, so apt pretends to uninstall gpixpod.
